Join ElderPride to celebrate the eve of Pride at our second BBQ and social of the summer! Join us on Killarney Lake beach to share food, connect, and enjoy an optional evening swim! This is an event for 2SLGBTQI+ adults and seniors. There will be ASL interpretation.

Our plan is to socialize/swim first and end with a BBQ. Swimming is optional! We will have a limited number of beach blankets and chairs available. Please feel free to bring a blanket or chair.

We will have both meat and vegan hot dogs (cooked separately), chips, veggies, cold drinks, and dessert. We promise we’ll try and change the menu up a bit at each event!

Please notify us in advance of any food allergies or dietary requirements (at least 48 hours notice).

This is a dry event (please note that liquor cannot be consumed in public spaces such as this without a special permit).

This event is WEATHER DEPENDENT. If it is safest to reschedule, we will post in the event a minimum of 2 hours before it is scheduled to start (likely earlier) and will add this cancellation to our online calendar. Please check the event before heading to Killarney!

Accessibility:

– This is a dry/sober event.
– There is parking on-site.
– There is an accessible dock onsite.
– There is a gravel path leading to the picnic area and beach. We will do our best to set up on level ground.

ElderPride will have a float in the Fredericton Pride Parade again this year, and we would love to have you join us!

Date: July 11, 2025

Time: 11:30 am to join the float or the walk/roll group accompanying the float. Come early (10:00 am – 11:15 am) to help decorate! The parade is scheduled to start at 12:00 pm.

Where: Parking lot behind the Fredericton Public Library.

You are welcome to walk or roll with us on/alongside our float. We will also need 2 – 3 people to carry our banner, if this is something you would enjoy!

We will be meeting at the marshalling grounds (parking lot behind the Library – enter via Carleton Street). Look for a U-Haul van and trailer with lavender decorations!

If you want to help us decorate our float before the day of the parade, keep an eye on this event. We will be sharing the location of our decorating event the day prior (Friday) before our evening BBQ).

We are currently working to secure ASL interpretation but this is not yet confirmed. Please let us know if you plan to attend and require ASL.

No RSVP is required. We will have chairs available for use on the float for increased accessibility. The float trailer has a built-in ramp, so there is no need to climb up onto the trailer.
