Our second June ElderPride event will be a guided nature walk/roll on the Old Thatch Road trail. Our excursion will be guided by Kirsten Johnsen, who will be sharing expertise in flora, fauna, and bird identification. There will be ASL interpretation.
Date: Sunday, June 28, 2026
Location: 35 Thatch Rd, Lincoln, NB E3B 7E4. Drive to the end of Thatch Road (keep driving until the road ends). There is a boat launch area on the left by the river and a parking lot on the right. We will meet in the parking lot and proceed to the trail entrance (a small bridge at the end of the road) together.
Time: 9:00 am Atlantic. We expect this event to take 2 hours.
We will take a morning walk in nature and gain knowledge about plant identification and the species found within New Brunswick. We also expect to see some birds!
No registration is required.
ACCESSIBILITY:
There will be ASL interpretation. This walk will take place on a paved trail (an abandoned highway), that is relatively flat and smooth, suitable for most mobility aids, including wheelchairs. The total length of the trail is 6 km round trip; however, we expect to turn back around 1 to 1.5 km in, for a total of 2-3 km.
